Five free calculators before you sign anything
The five calculators above return the same numbers any Colombian bank uses in its own simulator — monthly payment, estimated E.A. rate, total cost with charges, savings from a portfolio purchase, and a score simulation. No sign-up, no Datacrédito footprint.
Before comparing offers in personal loans, online loans or credit cards, knowing your monthly ceiling matters — the working rule is to stay under 40% of net income across all instalments. A five-second simulation beats generic advice.
What each calculator decides
- How much you can borrow — a realistic ceiling from income, current debt and the product's average rate. Run it before browsing Bogotá offers or Medellín.
- Payment + total cost — turns amount + term + E.A. rate into a final figure, charges included where they apply.
- Portfolio purchase — bundles up to six debts and shows the real saving of moving them into one consolidation loan. Caveat: effective cost only drops if you don't stretch the term at the same time.
- Early repayment — what happens when you pay extra to principal. Penalty-free prepayment is a consumer right in Colombia; ask for it to shorten the term, not the payment, if saving interest is the goal.
- Score simulator — a five-factor model (on-time payments, utilisation, account age, mix, inquiries). Cross-check with the full simulator.
After you calculate
Once the number is clear, move to bank-vs-bank comparisons — Bancolombia vs Davivienda, Lulo vs Bancolombia, Itaú vs Nu — or read the editorial guides on the E.A. rate, Datacrédito and libranza before signing. The basics live in the financial glossary with examples.
